I've been feeding hummingbirds for 13 summers. They are very aggressive and usually will fight to have the feeder to themselves. Rarely would two call a truce and dine together. This summer groups of 3 have become more common. This is my only shot of 4, taken yesterday. I had never even seen this before then. THe shots of six were taken in late June.
Excellent Ed. I recently moved to a new house just outside of town and the one thing that I now have a lot of is birds. All different flavours too. It is great to wake up to bird song every day. I think I might just get one of those feeders as well.

Yes, I get the bird singing throughout the day. Sun up and sundown is extra musical! Between the chipmunks and humming birds, I can forgo the more needy pets [dogs, which I like] Still waiting for the right cat to come along though they can be pretty demanding at times.
I think the hummingbirds are affected by your peaceful energies, Ed.
It's a great picture - I'm fascinated by hummingbirds. We don't have them here, but we have a LOT of other birds. I live outside of town too. I even have birds of prey; I'm not sure what kind.

Thank you Ulla!
I had some sort of hawks nesting out back. have some video of the youngster poking around for food. I would not be surprised if you had hummers in your neck of the woods.
Sometimes we mistake them for bees or such......or fairies! lol
I feed the Blue Jays and there are for of em hanging around the back yard one seems to be the boss. My cat likes to catch em but their getting smarter these days. Only got one humming bird.
You're on the right track, Ed, but they have to be marinated in wine, honey and garum first. Garum was used in ancient Rome and is basically the fluid you get when you let fish rotten. Let's have an ORGEEEE!

O' that's awesome! We used to have some that came here, but there are so many alley cats that came to flop here, I guess they don't take the chance anymore. I always loved to watch them. GREAT pix!
