HomeA Couple of Poems by Ed. .......About My Original Recordings - A Small Bit of HistoryAug 6, 2007
YOU COULD ALREADY BE A WIENER
I like to go out. ..Way out. ..
Where it's deep. ..Really deep. Where if you're not careful you might not come back
I like to get really abstract. ..on the fringes,
Where colour and objects mean nothing. .. And feeling means everything.
Everything is crazy out here. ..Way out here. Where the ice is thin ...Maybe too thin ...
And the candle burns, Both ends nearing the centre.
And the thread is ready to snap..........................
And your ten million dollar check could already be in the mail
c 1995

.................................................................................
In darkness and solitude I rise.
I cannot see the sun and worry
That it has abandoned me,
Never to return, Like so many others
Whose light once promised And failed to shine,
Whose warmth, once caressing My flesh now chilled and pallored,
Gives cheer to all corners of the earth Save this prison where hope Is all but lost.

I search, and try to remember That place where faith,
The mightiest servant of the creator, Does dwell, in whose flame Each new day is born,
And slowly warm my soul by his fire,
Remembering That in the east
Love and light await
Always.
c 1988

About My Original Recordings;
After a tour with the U.S. Marines in 1968 Viet Nam, I decided to fulfill my life long ambition to become a working keyboard player. That eventually led to songwriting and producing in my home studio. I think my songs evoke emotion, sad, happy or thoughtful.
I think of myself as a songwriter and have no illusions as to my technical abilities. If your one of the few people to read these words, you should know that these recordings are not exercises in perfection but rather musical sketches rendered with varying attention to detail; as time, temperament and recording facilities has always affected the final outcome.
If you are a vocalist or producer with an interest in recording or performing any of my compositions, please contact me at Sonxpro@gmail.com
Its important to thank my good friends Rob and Donna Frezza, who sing back-up on "Dreamer". Donna also is the lead vocalist on "Video Dream", with Rob on back-up and lead guitar, Rich Laguardia, drums and Chris Adams on bass.
All other song tracks were produced by me on the Ensoniq SD-1 keyboard.

Ed have you heard the 2 songs in the Just us album I used the same keyboard to make the orchestra background track. There is a real flute and a 12 string guitar in there.
I'm currently working on some acoustic stuff that I wrote and I will be posting that as I get some time.

You too, Ed. Good to see you again.
Don't let the Cretans get you annoyed, Brother!

You don't see much of em around anymore. I think they just make the smaller ones now. I could be wrong. Yamaha makes some nice ones. Korg makes some damn nice ones but they're expensive.
Ya mean Tape recorders?

CTK-611
Somehow I suspected it was a Casio. I think the drum sounds were familiar.
Keep on keeping on Brother!!!!!

The short video is on You tube Just type in River Bottom Blue in the You tube search window. I am in the middle playing the harmonica.
I tried to use a trial version video editor and it cut off half of the video. That is why it is so short. I'll have to fix it later as soon as I get a good video editor.
We were on a local TV show Cable access kind of thing.

Would you believe it was a Casio Keyboard CTK-611 that I used. I still have it. I bought it to practice the guitar with because it can play on it's own.
I multi layered the songs with it's midi memory and it came out like a sound on sound effect.
There are better ones out there now that do way more. I learned how to program other effects on it and I made a whole CD with it.
A friend of mine liked what I did and made his own songs on his. " Crystal Cove " is one of his songs. He died in a car accident later on. He was an awesome lead player but he had other problems. Sad story.
I later used the Casio to put background strings in some recordings of a folk group I was in for a while and played live with it at some our gigs.
I have had more fun with that thing and I haven't found another one like it.
Thanks for the comments. Visit anytime.
